2017 Health Expo brings workshops, resources to Bigfork Valley

Visit the campus at Bigfork Valley Hospital for the 2017 Health Expo on Saturday, July 15 from 1-4 p.m. Including exhibits, interactive tours, workshops and snacks, there will be health and fitness information and activities for all ages. Bigfork Valley Hospital is located three blocks east of Highway 38 in Bigfork.

Northern Orthotics and Prosthetics Center will be awarding a kayak to a lucky winner! There will also be a variety of door prizes and, of course, our famous root beer floats.

Pickleball: it’s fun, challenging and a sport for everyone – come see how to play the game and try it out yourself!  Watch for the North Memorial Air Care medical helicopter and talk with the pilot and medical staff, weather permitting.

Try putting out a blaze with a fire extinguisher (refill or purchase available). The Bigfork ambulance and Bigfork Volunteer Fire Department vehicles will also be open for visits – see how our local services are equipped for rural emergencies and remote retrievals.

Have you wondered how to protect yourself from ticks or what a knee implant looks like?  Chat with knowledgable staff about these and other questions. Memorial Blood Centers will also be typing blood for visitors.

During the afternoon, learn more at series of workshops held in the board room:

  • 1:00 p.m. North Memorial Air Care Medical Flight
  • 1:30 p.m. Putting Together a School Garden
  • 2:00 p.m. Camping: Health and Safety in the Wilderness (a Ten Topics presentation)
  • 3:00 p.m. Create Your Own Real Food Freeze Pops
