Heidi Korstad, MD Announces Retirement After 35 Years on the Bigfork Valley Campus
After 35 years as a practicing family physician with Bigfork Valley and Scenic Rivers Health Services, Heidi Korstad, MD has announced her upcoming retirement. Serving as the Medical Director for the Bigfork Valley Emergency Room and Home Care department, Dr. Korstad has played an integral role in defining what quality healthcare in the Northwoods is, and we wish her the best in her future endeavors as she continues to make this community and the world a better place.
A graduate of the University of Minnesota Duluth Medical School, Dr. Korstad joined Bigfork Valley and Scenic Rivers as the town’s first female doctor in 1983 and spent her entire career on the Bigfork campus serving patients and energizing staff with her optimism and positive energy.
Dr. Korstad immersed herself into the community and was instrumental in the concept, design and operation of the state-of-the-art community theater called the Edge Center for the Arts. Her passion for art, life and learning largely contributes to why Bigfork Valley is one of the highest rated hospitals in the state.
The public is invited to a community celebration in honor of Dr. Korstad on June 8, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Bigfork Valley Commons hosted by Bigfork Valley Hospital and Scenic Rivers Health Services.
