CEO's Notes: Over the River and Through the Woods
Bigfork Valley is a miracle! Who would have ever believed that someone could build a healthcare campus like Bigfork Valley in the middle of the northwoods, in a town of 469 people, and be so successful at it?
Our new construction and major remodeling projects are done and you would be hard pressed to find a hospital, especially in rural America, that looks like and feels like Bigfork Valley. It doesn't look like or feel like a traditional hospital - it's warm and inviting and feels homey. We've been told by our patients and visitors that our inpatient rooms look like rooms in a lodge - that's what we were aiming for.
What we do in Bigfork is so special that people are willing to drive more than 70 miles "over the river and through the woods" to receive orthopaedic and pain management services. They come to enjoy the "Bigfork Valley Experience," personal healthcare services that put the person first. Because we know how important it can be to our patients' recovery, we allow our patients' pets to visit them while they're in the hospital- where else can you do that?!
Not only is Bigfork Valley a special place to get healthcare services, but it's a great place to work too. I must have heard at least a dozen times over the last six months about how happy our employees are and that they smile and greet our guests, visitors and patients. We aren't making them do that…they do it because they actually are happy. Happy employees provide great customer service and a higher quality of care.
If you're thinking about or need to get your hip or knee repaired or any other orthopaedic procedure done, or if you're having chronic pain problems, come visit us and see for yourself that Bigfork Valley is truly a world-class facility in a rural and woodsy setting. You'll find us "over the river and through the woods."
