CEO Notes: The eagle has landed
by Dan Odegaard, CEO
Our logo has the appearance of an eagle head, a concept crafted by two of our Board members over four years ago. The logo itself represents two rivers (Big Fork and Rice) converging in the Bigfork Valley with pine trees on the hills alongside the rivers. The eagle head was created by sculpturing the sky after the original logo was presented to the committee that was charged with creating a new name and logo. It has always amazed me how these two artistically gifted people brought this out of a logo that was meant to geographically identify Bigfork.
In the following pages you will meet our new eagle mascot “Eddy.” Eddy is the inspiration of one of our employees who felt that by using a mascot we could make a more personal connection with the communities we serve, especially the children and our elders. Eddy will be a featured component of most of our future outreach activities.
Having an eagle as part of our logo and as a mascot fits perfectly with who we are and where we are going. As an eagle has the ability to see over great distances, so is Bigfork Valley envisioning the path to the future of rural health care. We are on the “cutting edge” of technology in our construction of state of the art hospital facilities and as we implement our Electronic Medical Record (EMR). This new technology helps us enhance our delivery of high quality care and reinforces the truth in our business tag-line “Where Skill Meets Compassion.”
As we spread our wings and take to the sky looking for new opportunities to expand into communities that need and welcome our services, we are also forging new partnerships with and on behalf of those communities.
Marcell, Balsam and Coleraine…the eagle has landed.
