Arts & Crafts Fair Friday, August 6
It’s coming soon! The time when your 50 cents will go toward a scholarship to help an area resident take the first steps to a career in health care. This year three scholarships were awarded to students in the registered nursing program.
Besides, what better way to spend a Friday afternoon than browsing the work of some of the best craftspeople in the area?
This year the Arts and Crafts Fair will be from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Friday, August 6. Chairperson Nancy Scrivner said that there will be something for everybody at the fair: hand crafted furniture, woodcarvings, intarsia, photography, art work, weavings, soaps, and rugs as well as many other items; over 50 different vendors!
There will also be the traditional bake sale. But come early, the reputation of local bakers is so good that these are often sold out in the first hours.
Raffle tickets are already available at local merchants. The drawing will be held at 3:30 p.m. on the afternoon of the fair; winners do not need to be present. Raffle prizes include a Jack Sholund print, a table runner and quilt by Karen Bottomley, a wall hanging and a gift certificate to the Forest Lake Restaurant in Grand Rapids.
