BIGFORK VALLEY NEWS RELEASE BIGFORK VALLEY TO HOST 2009 HEALTH EXPOBigfork Valley will host the 2009 Health Expo on Saturday, July 18 from 1-4 p.m. There will be lots for all ages to see, enjoy and participate in at the free event. Want to tour an air ambulance (weather and emergencies permitting)? Try out Wii bowling? Join in a Crazy Carb Carnival? Try your hand at putting out a fire with a fire extinguisher? Enter a drawing to win an Old Town Otter kayak or one of many other door prizes? It will all be at the Bigfork Valley campus, 2 blocks east of Highway 38 in Bigfork. Visitors will be able to browse displays from area exhibitors, find out their blood type, try out Fitness Center equipment and a new recumbent bike, step up on the Let's Go Fishing with Seniors pontoon and watch a square dancing demonstration by the 'Tasca Twirlers. Meet our statewide award winner. Gail Blackmer, Minnesota Hospital Association Trustee of the Year will greet well-wishers from 3-3:30 p.m. Kids of all ages will enjoy the Crazy Carb Carnival, midway-style games centered around diabetes education. Seniors will be able to locate local resources and find answers to questions at the concurrent event: Connecting Seniors to Services. There will be presentations as well as displays in the lower level of the Villa. Of course, there will also be treats: root beer floats and yogurt parfaits in waffle cones are on the day's menu; and families are invited to a fundraiser picnic on the grill from 3:30-4:30 p.m. before the Edge Center's family show. At 5 p.m. the Edge Center will present Reza, The Illusionist. The show is underwritten by Dr. Dan Baker, Dr. Dan Margo, Dr. Tim Bonner, Dr. Michael Baich, Dr. Suanne Dullard and Bigfork Valley.
